Warning signs

Signs your sewer line needs attention

A main-line problem usually shows up in more than one place at once.

Sewage coming up a floor drain or tub

Several drains slow or backing up at once

Gurgling toilets and drains

Sewer smell in the basement or yard

Soggy or sunken spots in the yard

Recurring clogs that keep coming back

Sewage in the house right now? Stop using water, keep people and pets away, and call 410-320-7348

What goes wrong

Common causes of sewer line failure

Tree roots

Roots find small cracks and joints and grow into the line until it blocks.

Old pipe materials

Clay, cast iron and Orangeburg (fiber) pipe crack, corrode or collapse with age.

Bellies & shifting

Soil settling creates low spots where waste collects and backs up.

Breaks & collapses

A cracked or collapsed section stops flow completely – an emergency.

How it works

Evidence first, then a written price

We run a camera through the line to find the problem, its location and depth, and the pipe material.

You see the video

Written estimate

You get a written price and the options – repair or replacement, dig or trenchless where suitable – before any work starts.

Clean up & financing

We restore the work area. If insurance won't cover it, ask about 0% financing options.*

We clean up after it, too

Sewer line FAQ

How do I know it's the main sewer line and not just a clog?

If more than one fixture is backing up – for example the tub gurgles when the toilet flushes, or water comes up a floor drain – the problem is usually in the main line rather than a single drain.

Do I need a camera inspection?

Yes. A camera inspection shows exactly where the problem is, what the pipe is made of, and how bad it is – so the fix is based on evidence, not guesswork. You see the video too.

Who is responsible for the sewer line – me or the county?

In Anne Arundel County, the county maintains the sewer connection in the public right-of-way, and the homeowner is responsible from the property line to the house, including the cleanout. If the problem is on the county side, call Anne Arundel County DPW Utility Operations at 410-222-7500.

Does homeowners insurance cover sewer line replacement?

Often the pipe itself isn't covered, though some policies have endorsements for water backup or service lines. Your insurer or agent can tell you what your policy includes. For work insurance won't pay for, we offer 0% financing options on approved credit.

Do you pull permits?

Sewer line work in Anne Arundel County requires a plumbing permit and inspection. We handle the permits for the work we do.

Can you avoid digging up my whole yard?

Sometimes. Depending on the pipe's condition and route, a trenchless method may be an option. The camera inspection tells us what will work, and we'll explain the choices before you decide.
